ACMEE: A Legacy in Motion, Driven by Design and Innovation

Image
The artist who designed the ACMEE logo shared a compelling vision: the exhibition must continue event after event driven by innovation and progress. This vision is symbolised by the gear embedded in the ribbon, representing continuous movement and improvement. Each element within the logo reflects a core sector of the exhibition: A car symbolises automobiles & auto parts. A table signifies computers & consultancy. A machine represents machinery & machine tools. Electric lines denote electrical & electronics. Nature illustrates energy & environment. The logo, with its distinct colour combination, was originally approved by the then-leaders of AIEMA and ATC and continues to be used today, standing the test of time and becoming a recognisable symbol of ACMEE's identity. As we now see multiple gears revolving around the logo, they reflect the growing momentum of ACMEE, fuelled by the enthusiastic participation of industry leaders in manufacturing. Visitors, in turn,...

ACMEE 2025: Beyond Smart Manufacturing

Image
As the global manufacturing landscape undergoes a paradigm shift towards intelligent systems and connected technologies, ACMEE 2025 is poised to be a game changer for the Indian manufacturing sector. With the theme “ Beyond Smart Manufacturing ” the 16 th  edition international machine tool exposition will serve as a platform for showcasing next generation technologies that redefine manufacturing excellence.  Organised by the Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association (AIEMA) , ACMEE 2025 reflects a strong commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration and industrial advancement. Spanning over 30,000 square meters and featuring 450+ exhibitors, the event will bring together a diverse spectrum of global and domestic stakeholders from the manufacturing and technology ecosystem. From CNC machine tools and industrial automation to robotics, 3D printing, industrial IoT and precision engineering, ACMEE 2025 offers a holistic view of the evolving manufacturing value chai...

Poka-Yoke and IoT hand in hand

Image
Yes!   Poka-Yoke   (a Japanese term meaning "mistake-proofing") is widely used in Indian industries to prevent errors in manufacturing and operational processes. IoT-powered   Poka-Yoke   systems ensure real-time monitoring, automation, and error prevention. Here are some   Indian industry-specific IoT-based Poka-Yoke implementations :   1. IoT-based Torque Monitoring in Automobile Manufacturing •   Industry:   Automotive (Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki) •   Use Case:   In assembly lines, IoT-enabled torque sensors ensure that nuts and bolts are tightened to exact specifications. If incorrect torque is detected, the system automatically stops the process and alerts the operator. •   Impact:   Reduces rework and warranty claims due to   loose   or over-tightened bolts.   2. Smart Vision Systems for Quality Control in Electronics Manufacturing •   Industry:   Electronics...

The Internet of Things (IoT) Who all using it and where

Image
The Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized manufacturing by enhancing efficiency, reducing downtime, and enabling data-driven decision-making. Here are some unique and in-use IoT applications in manufacturing industries: 1. Predictive Maintenance with AI & IoT •   How it works : IoT sensors collect real-time data from machinery (vibration, temperature, humidity, etc.). AI models   analyse   patterns and predict failures before they happen. •   Real-world Use Case : Rolls-Royce uses IoT-enabled aircraft engine sensors to monitor engine health and optimize maintenance schedules. 2. Digital Twin for Real-time Process Optimization •   How it works : A digital replica of a physical asset (machine, production line, or factory) is created. IoT feeds real-time data to this digital twin, allowing simulations and optimizations. •   Real-world Use Case : General Electric (GE) uses digital twins in turbine manufacturing to optimize efficiency and reduce energy...
