The role of ACMEE in promoting research and development in the Indian manufacturing sector

Innovation doesn’t just happen in isolation; it thrives in environments that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and bold thinking. In India’s fast-evolving manufacturing sector, research and development (R&D) are no longer optional; they’re critical drivers of progress, competitiveness, and global relevance. And one of the most influential platforms nurturing this innovation ecosystem is ACMEE. ACMEE isn’t just about showcasing what's new; it's about creating the space for what's next. For decades, Indian manufacturers have relied on incremental improvements and cost optimisation. But with changing global standards, rising customer expectations, and the emergence of Industry 4.0 technologies, there’s a growing demand for homegrown R&D that can solve uniquely Indian challenges with uniquely Indian solutions. ACMEE is helping to push that shift not only by highlighting new technologies but also by empowering the minds behind them. At ACMEE, R&D comes alive. U...

An UFI Accredited India’s Premier International Machine Tools Exhibition

Image
Genesis AIEMA and ATC (AIEMA Technology Centre), for the first time, organised a Consumer Product Exhibition in the sports grounds of ATC during the year 1987-88 for the benefit of employers and employees. It was also felt that this could be a fund raising event for ATC – thanks to the initiatives of Mr. K.S. Shetty who was the President of ATC at that time. With a view to further achieving the objectives of ATC, Product Promotion Programmes were organized on a regular basis in the Silver Jubilee hall of ATC. The fair activities were also enlarged to BUYER SELLER MEETS and BANK CUSTOMERS MEETINGS with products display. This greatly helped in showcasing the manufacturing strength and profile of members and brought in the required recognition amongst the institutional buyers, corporate, Government establishments and nationalized Banks.  During the year 1993-94, Mr. PR. Nagappan, Vice President of ATC, in charge of exhibitions and fund raising, submitted a proposal for organizing a fu...

India’s Defence Manufacturing Surge: A Post-Sindoor Turning Point

Image
India’s defence sector is undergoing a powerful transformation, and this time, it’s being shaped from within. Following the strategic depth demonstrated during Operation Sindoor, there has been a clear pivot toward strengthening homegrown manufacturing capabilities. It’s not just policy anymore; it’s progress in action. Today, the country is witnessing a rising wave of domestic innovation. From startups designing next-gen drone systems to legacy manufacturers ramping up production of high-precision equipment, the landscape is changing fast. Operation Sindoor became more than a mission; it was a signal. A clear indication that India has both the capability and the necessity to create for itself. What’s unfolding across India is nothing short of a national industrial shift. Defence corridors, once merely announcements, are now bustling zones of investment and activity. The corridors in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are already attracting partnerships between private manufacturers and gov...
